Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics (FAPM-2019)

Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics (FAPM-2019)

From 10 to 12 December, an annual international scientific conference “Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics” was held at BMSTU. The conference is organized with the participation of leading Russian and foreign scientists to present new results of research in mechanics conducted by scientific and educational institutions of different countries.

Special emphasis is put on achievements which continue and develop the work of the great Russian scientist Nikolai Y. Zhukovsky (Joukovsky) and his students and followers, who laid a solid foundation of classical mechanics and set the starting points for modern scientific research.
FAPM-2019 was dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of academician Konstantin S. Kolesnikov (1919–2016), the creator of the scientific and pedagogical school on the dynamics of rocket and space systems and oscillation theory, a recognized leader in mechanics at BMSTU in the second half of the XX century. First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Boris Padalkin addressed the welcoming speech to the conference participants.
The conference program included reports on the following main areas:
• Mathematical modeling of mechanical systems, stability, oscillations theory
• Theoretical mechanics
• Celestial mechanics
• Aerodynamics and hydromechanics
• Problems of optimization, identification and reliability of mechanical and hydromechanical systems
• Scientific, methodical and historical questions of mechanics
