BMSTU Student Union
BMSTU student union is the oldest and most numerous student organization in the university. It was established in 1920 and has a membership of more than 16,000 students-union members at the moment.
Areas of activity:
·        to protect the legitimate rights and interests of students and graduate students,  to provide the union members with diversified support;
·        educational and methodical work - practical assistance to students in their studies;
·        to provide needy students with material support;
·        to fix government social grants for students;
·        to organize  students’ summer holidays;
·        health-related work;
·        to organize events to promote healthy lifestyle;
·        sports and cultural work;
·        to develop student volunteer movement;
·        to work with students living in hostels;
·        to extend Muskovite's Social Card (transport cards on the subway and ground transportation).
BMSTU Student Council
BMSTU Student Council was founded in 2006 as a student self-administration of the University. Student Council is actively involved in BMSTU activities. The main priorities are:

  • Education in the University
  • Scientific research and practice
  • Students life in hostels
  • Career advising and student building groups organizing
  • Cultural activities
  • Sport activities
Local BEST Group Moscow
There is a local group of Board of European Students in Technology (BEST) in Bauman University, founded in 2006 by a group of students. A lot of activities were organized by BEST-Moscow group with more than 1000 participants from BMSTU and European universities.

Anti-drug Volunteer Movement
BMSTU Anti-drug Volunteer Movement exists more than five years. It acts in a close cooperation with BMSTU Student Trade-Union. Very active and respectful students are involved in this movement and therefore it is very efficient. It promotes healthy lifestyle and zero tolerance to drug consumption. Every year more and more students participate in this very important public activity.
Youth Space Center
Youth Space Center (YSC) was founded in 1989. It is aimed to teach schoolchildren basics of aerospace engineering, foster engineering and scientific activities among youth, promote achievements of cosmonautics, and to cooperate with foreign counterparts.

Student building groups (SBG) organization
This is long-term Russian tradition to organize student building groups during summer vacations. Special student organization functioning in Bauman University is responsible for involving students in such activity, training and supporting them. SBG participants work as in Bauman University as well as all over Russia. The most famous SB groups are “Phoenix” (construction and repair work in Bauman dormitories and University buildings), “Khaba-Chita” (from 2006 to 2009 SBG participated in the construction of the federal highway between Chita and Khabarovsk in Russian Far East), “Malachite” (repair works of the railway in Ural region).
