The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation inspected the complex of dormitories, consisting of two buildings "Parus" and "Spectrum". The complex is built on a block type and is designed to accommodate 2,300 people. Valery Falkov visited one of the dormitories, which will have everything necessary for a comfortable life for students: each block includes two rooms, a bathroom and its own kitchen. Double accommodation is provided in the rooms.
The Spectrum building is not only a dormitory, but also a multifunctional leisure center, on the first two floors of which there will be public areas, including a dining room, student art spaces, in particular music, dance and media centers, coworking for self—training. Here students will be able not only to live, but also to actively realize their creative potential.
The Parus building will also house student open spaces on the ground floors, a fitness center and a medical complex with psychological support rooms will appear. The department of comprehensive student support — "student MFC" will also be located here, where students will be able to submit, issue and receive the necessary documents and certificates without leaving the hostel.
After the completion of landscaping, an open street stage will appear on the territory of the complex, where cultural events will take place, and thanks to the future pedestrian bridge that will connect the dormitories with the Center for Creative Industries of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, located across the street, a single cluster of extracurricular student activity will appear on Yauza.
The completion of the construction of the dormitory complex is scheduled for the end of this year.
The next point of inspection was the technological building, which will include classrooms for students and laboratory complexes. Research and development in the field of machine-building technologies, ground-based technological and launch equipment of rocket and space technology, vacuum and compressor technology will be carried out in the building. The idea of an end-to-end technological process from casting to ultra-precision and thermal surface treatment will be implemented.
At the moment, the laboratories are already equipped with the latest Software for 3D modeling and strength calculations of structural materials and products, part of the equipment for metalworking and materials research was purchased.
At the technology center, students will already be involved in research and development work for various industries during their studies.
The completion of the construction of the technological building is expected in September this year.
Recall that 2 buildings of the campus have already been put into operation: the cluster "Engineering in Life Sciences" and the Engineering Center of Ground Transport and Technological Systems. The training of students here will begin in the new academic year. The cluster "Engineering in Life Sciences" will host classes for masters of the new modular programs of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The construction of the new Bauman Moscow State Technical University campus with an area of about 169 thousand square meters began in 2021. It will unite scientific centers and laboratories, the innovation and technology center, a congress center, a modern 24-hour library and coworking, dormitories, museums and exhibition complexes, education centers for children and adults, park areas and sports grounds on one territory. The area of the university will increase by almost 1.5 times.
In addition, the infrastructure of the campus will be used not only by students and employees of Baumanka, but also by residents of the capital, which will create a comfortable urban environment. The construction of the campus will be completed in 2024.
